Dan Flavin's work is currently on display at Kunstmuseum Basel in a major retrospective and we are delighted to present the complementary exhibition "Dan Flavin. Prints, Drawings and some Letters" at Annemarie Verna Gallery.
A modest testimony to Dan Flavin's considerable interest in works on paper and to the role of the handwritten text as a form of aesthetic expression and as a defining element of a work of art.
Still on view is “Will Insley. Drawings, Photographs and Fragments of Abstract /Buildings/”, the artists third solo show at the gallery after exhibitions in 1974 and 1976.
He dedicated over 50 years to creating paintings, drawings, writing, models and photomontages based on his investigation of a theoretical civilization and focus on its single metropolis, ONECITY, a labyrinthine structure buried in the central North American plains.
